Our Story
Chavun didn’t begin with a big plan or a dramatic moment.
It began with a simple observation.
Growing up, we never saw aprons in everyday life. In our families, in our kitchens, in our homes—aprons just weren’t a thing. They weren’t considered important, useful, or even necessary.
That changed when we started traveling. Outside India, we noticed how naturally people wore aprons—not just while cooking, but as a part of daily life. We saw how practical they were, how they protected clothes, and how good it felt to wear one. Over time, we noticed different styles, fits, and patterns. Aprons weren’t an afterthought—they were thoughtfully designed, comfortable, and personal.
That’s when the idea took shape.
Why shouldn’t India have aprons that are simple, stylish, and durable?
Why shouldn’t an apron feel good to wear and easy to live in?
When we shared this idea, many people questioned it. We were told that aprons wouldn’t work in India, that people wouldn’t wear them, that there wasn’t a space for them here. But we believed something else—that if a product is well-made, thoughtfully designed, and feels right, it will find its place in people’s lives.
We also believe that aprons are not just for cooking.
They’re for pottery, gardening, art, baking, running errands, working with your hands, or simply moving through your day without worrying about your clothes. An apron is not a uniform—it’s a companion.
With Chavun, we’re creating that space.
A space where aprons belong.
A space where function meets comfort and quiet style.
We know it will take time—but we also know we’ll create it.
